For 13-years, M. Alain contributed to the promotion and advancement of Canadian skiing at the regional, national and international levels.

During this time, he held the following positions:

1959-1960
Secretary-Treasurer of the Quebec Division of the Canadian Ski Association.
Delegate for the Canadian Ski Federation on the Federation Internationale de Ski (F.I.S).
Delegate on behalf of the Canadian Ski Federation on the Canadian Olympic Association and the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C).

1960-1962
President of the Quebec Division of the Canadian Ski Association.

1963-1964
President, Committee of International Competitions, Federation Internationale de Ski (F.I.S.).

1964-1965
Vice-President, Canadian Ski Association.

1966-1968
President, Canadian Ski Association.

1969-1972
Director, Canadian Olympic Association.
President (External Relations Committee), Canadian Ski Association.

M. Alain’s talent for communication made a valuable contribution in bringing together the French and English skiing communities. He contributed to training and selection programs for athletes involved in international and Olympic competition and to the organization and
coordination of technical committees involved in international competition, for example, the World Cup of Alpine Skiing.
