Accessory, Boot – 2000.22.6

1 ankle/calf gaiter/cover used as a way to keep the calf of leg warm while cross country skiing. A hook is used to attach to boot cover. Half is red in colour and the other half is blue. There is a zipper that runs the entire length and there are black canvas shoelaces at either end for tightening. Blue half has an elasticized section in the middle and at the cuff. Used for breaking trail in the Ottawa Region, also used in the Canadian Ski Marathon, c. 1970’s-1980’s.
