Jennifer Heil is the first female skier in the world to complete the grand slam in freestyle skiing, winning all major international titles. She also holds a Guinness World Record for winning the most gold medals at the Freestyle world championships, with four, to go along with two silver medals.

Jennifer made her Olympic debut at Salt Lake City 2002 when she finished fourth as an 18-year-old then followed that by capturing Canada’s first-ever Olympic medal in women’s moguls when she won gold at Turin in 2006. The Alberta born skier then  won Canada’s first medal of the Olympic Games at Vancouver 2010 – a silver. Prior to her Olympic victory, Jenn experienced health problems and took the 2003 season off to treat chronic shin splints, but came back in full force over the next several years, with 14 podium finishes in World Cup events in 2004 and 2005 and gold in dual moguls at the 2005 World Championships. 

A consistent competitor, Heil won the overall World Cup moguls title , five times, amassing 58 World Cup medals (including 25 wins) over her illustrious career. 

She is a member of the Alberta, Quebec and Canada Sports Hall of Fame as well as a recipient of the Meritorious Service Decoration (M.S.C.) awarded by the Governor General of Canada.

As an ambassador for multiple social programs – such as  “Because I am a Girl” campaign and David Suzuki’s “Play It Cool” program – Jenn has been actively involved in multiple levels of sport and business. She is also a co-founder of B2Ten, a private sector initiative that assists Canadian athletes with training and preparation resources. 

In 2025 she was named as the Team Canada Chef de Mission for Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
