Kerrin Lee-Gartner may be best remembered for her Gold Medal winning performance in the Downhill event at the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France, in 1992, the first Canadian woman to win this event. But to many she is at least as well known for using her celebrity status to benefit many worthy causes other than those associated with skiing. She has also invested considerable personal time to encouraging and inspiring young racers and ensuring the success of the Nancy Greene Ski League and her own Kerrin Lee-Gartner Challenge.

A member of the Women’s National Alpine Ski Team from 1984 until 1994, she competed in 84 World Cup, World Championship and other Federation International de Ski (FIS) races from 1985 until her retirement in March, 1994, as well as in three Olympic Winter Games, Calgary, Alberta, 1988, Albertville, France, 1992 and Lillehammer, Norway, 1994.

In major Canadian competition, she won the Canadian Championship, Downhill event on three consecutive occasions, 1991, 1992, 1993. In other North American competition, she placed 1st in the Downhill event in the Nor-Am Championship Series in 1987, winning the Overall title at the same time. In 84 World Cup, World Championship and other FIS races, she placed a remarkable 46 times in the Top-10:
